Description
HOW TO USE
PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT: the flooring must be perfectly mature (therefore at least 28 days old), clean, dry and not subject to hydrostatic pressure. During the maturation phase it is strictly necessary and recommended to protect the flooring with non-woven fabric sheets in order to allow adequate maturation of the support. DO NOT protect the flooring with nylon sheets.
Avoid leaving pallets, equipment, window frames, etc. on the surface, which can cause the floor to mature unevenly or create accumulations of humidity, which will be evident as a defect after the application of the acid colorant solution. The surface must also be completely free of any type of paint, dirt residue, oil, resins, anti-evaporating agents, waxes and dust.
It is important to protect all surfaces adjacent to the work area by cordoning off any unwanted access, so that no one walks on the surface where the product will be applied; if possible, divide the area into sections using existing walls or other, this will allow easier control of coverage, overlap and any wet corners. All preparation and application procedures should be tested before use.
PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT: depending on the desired aesthetic result you want to obtain, ACID COLOR can be applied pure or diluted.
APPLICATION: during application it is necessary to wear studded shoes, gloves and protective glasses. ACID COLOR can be applied with a manual plastic spray pump with variable dispenser.
The applied solution will take on a cloudy and turbid appearance when the chemical reaction occurs, foaming slightly and fizzing more or less intensely from color to color; the reaction time for contact is approximately 4-5 hours and can vary based on the aesthetic result required, the type of more or less porous support and environmental conditions such as wind, temperature and humidity. Between the first application and a possible second coat, the surface must be washed with clean water carefully to best evaluate the color result obtained.
After the final application, after the reaction time of 4-5 hours, it is recommended to proceed with a wash with a single-brush machine, equipped with a red abrasive disc, and the product NEUTRALIZE pH so that all residues are rinsed and deactivated. FINAL TREATMENT: It will be possible to proceed with subsequent densification (with the lithium-based consolidant CONCRETE CONS-Li and finishing with ULTRA SHINE PRO or SUPER SHINE), oleophobic protection (OIL BLOCKER) or with a resin-wax treatment as desired; the type of treatment must be chosen based on the traffic and the place of installation.
ATTENTION
To check the aesthetic appearance, significant test sections must be made before the general application; these test sections must be of adequate size to be representative and must be produced possibly by the same applicators who will create the flooring and apply the chemical colorant in order to maintain the same hand. To obtain satisfactory color effects, at least two applications of ACID COLOR are recommended.
The product may be non-reactive and the color may not develop fully on old or over-seasoned floors or if there are residues of old treatments. To obtain special color effects, you can overlap coats of the product in sequence using a different color for each application, possibly placing the light colors first and then the dark colors. The color effects will be more intense on fresh concrete and concrete with a high cement content.
INDICATIVE COVERAGE
Approximately 0.250 l/m² for two applications of pure product.
AVAILABLE COLORS
Ebony, Brown, Terracotta, Amber, Turquoise, Olive, Black, Sand, Oxide Green, Grey.
The colors Turquoise, Oxide Green and Jade should be used for interior applications only as they may react with water and darken when exposed to excessive humidity.
If you intend to create acidified floors in the above-mentioned colours (Turquoise, Oxide Green and Jade) it is essential to provide a vapour barrier before creating the flooring.
STORAGE
Refer to the safety data sheet available on request. The product must be stored in the original containers, hermetically sealed, at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C, protected from direct sunlight and in ventilated areas. In these conditions the product has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of the delivery note. If the material is kept in storage beyond the recommended shelf life, it will not necessarily be considered unusable but a quality control must be carried out beforehand on the characteristics relevant to the application.
