HOW TO USE
PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT: shake before use to homogenize the best product. It is also advisable to perform a preliminary test to determine the appropriate depth of washing, as it may vary depending on the temperature and type of cement.
PREPARATION OF THE PRODUCT: apply evenly to the concrete surface using a sprayer with a fan nozzle (flow rate 1.18 l/min/3 bars, angle 110°), ensuring a consistent coverage. It is recommended to maintain a maximum distance of 15 cm between the sprayer and the concrete surface. The use of a nozzle guard at the end of the sprayer will prevent product dispersion in case of strong winds. Protect surfaces that are not to be treated to avoid soiling.
CONCRETE WASHING: after drying, the concrete should be washed with a highpressure water jet, adjusting the pressure based on field testing. The concrete can be washed with water at a variable pressure ranging from 100 to 150 bar, keeping the lance at a distance of 20 to 40 cm from the surface to be deactivated, at a 45° angle.
Washing can be performed between 8 and 24 hours after application. If there are conditions of exposure to strong winds or intense sunlight, or if the concrete has a low water-to-cement ratio, it is recommended to wash the surface within 4 to 12 hours if the temperature is below 35°C, or within 4 to 8 hours if the temperature is above 35°C.
TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS: to achieve excellent results, it is recommended to produce a very homogeneous concrete mixture. The type and dosage of cement also influence the setting time of the concrete. For the concrete to be deactivated, it is recommended to place it using staging and troweling techniques and, if necessary, a light vibration. Excessive vibration of the concrete can cause the fines to rise, resulting in separation of the mixture. The use of a faster-setting or higher cement dosage may affect the desired depth of excavation. The final aesthetic appearance, whether “open” or “closed,” is also determined by the amount of fines in the mixture.
If surface bleeding is observed after the concrete is placed, remove the excess water or wait for it to evaporate (approximately 25-35 minutes).
The chosen excavation depth should be equal to 1/3 of the maximum diameter of the desired exposed aggregate. The choice of product to achieve the desired depth may vary based on different parameters such as cement dosage, type of cement, water-to-cement ratio, workability, and climatic conditions. Always perform sample tests directly on-site to better define the excavation parameters.
INDICATIVE COVERAGE
The average estimated consumption is 1 liter of product per 4 - 5 m².
STORAGE
The product has a shelf life of 12 months from the delivery note date, provided it is stored indoors, in sealed packaging, protected from heat sources and freezing, at a temperature between +5°C and 30°C.
If the material has been stored beyond the recommended storage stability duration, it may not necessarily be unusable, but a qualitative check on the application-related characteristics should be carried out beforehand.
