WATER REPELLENT FOR THE REDUCTION OF THE ABSORPTION OF WATER-SOLUBLE POLLUTANTS FOR CEMENT

HYDRO BARRIER 244 it is a solvent-free treatment, with active ingredient 100%, capable of penetrating deeper than traditional silane and siloxane protectors, whether in solvent or water-based systems. HYDRO BARRIER 244 creates a transparent, non-filming, non-yellowing, fully breathable protection. It penetrates the substrate and chemically binds with silica creating a deep hydrophobic layer that prevents water, contaminants and chlorides from entering the substrate and causing its deterioration.

Combining a low surface tension with a reaction HYDRO BARRIER 244 It is able to move through the moisture layer that delimits the pore structure of the substrate, this allows the development of uniform gradient penetrations, therefore a constant level of protection throughout the penetration depth.

HYDRO BARRIER 244 It is suitable for use on cast-in-place, precast, concrete, GFRC, to protect reinforcing steel from corrosion due to the effects of water, runoff salts and other contaminants. It alleviates deterioration of concrete due to silica-alkali reactivity.

It is also recommended for the treatment of surfaces or areas worn by high salt concentrations such as piers, coastal buildings etc., to provide protection from chlorides in general. Non-absorbent substrates such as: glass, wood, plastic and metal cannot be treated, be careful and avoid contact with asphalt as it will damage it.

Description

HOW TO USE

PREPARATION OF THE SUPPORT: HYDROBARRIER 244 is ready to use and does not require dilution.

APPLICATION: HYDROBARRIER 244 must be applied by flow-coating up to the saturation point, all liquid dispensing devices are suitable (e.g. airless guns), the material must not be atomized or applied by brush.

INDICATIVE COVERAGE

Consumption ranges between 7 and 25 m2/l, the coverage rates on the surfaces depend on the type of substrate to be treated and the type of finish present.

STORAGE

The product must be stored in the original containers, hermetically sealed, at temperatures between 10°C and 30°C, protected from direct sunlight and in ventilated areas. In these conditions the product has a shelf life of 12 months from the date of the delivery note, if the material is kept in storage beyond the recommended stability period it will not necessarily be considered unusable but a preventive check on the product must be carried out.
